for custom made furniture and fittings the price will vary a lot depending upon the customers choices in materials and design, Against The Grain's policy is to give a genuine pre-estimate of total cost at the time of agreement regarding materials and design (which includes a 30% over estimation to allow for unknown costs) however the labour price will never change unless the customer makes changes to elements of the job.
for other work we charge by the hour and Against The Grain charges are:
- 15.00 pph for skilled worker
- 10.00 pph for semi skilled worker
if the location is within 10 miles of brighton then there are no additional costs. however after 10 miles we charge a minimum of 10 pounds towards the fuel and then an hourly rate of 7.50 pph per person whiletraveling.
